Soil should be tested periodically throughout the growing season. Soil Test Kit includes all the amenities you need to perform 25 tests for each four different factors: nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and pH (acidity/alkalinity). It contains test capsules, dropper, fennel, Spatula, measuring cylinder, filter paper, color comparison chart and instructions on how to alter your soil.
Soil Nitrogen/Phosphorous/Potash/ pH testing method
Mix soil with water (use rain water OR distilled water) with 1:2 ratios in volume (i.e. one cup of soil with 2 cap water) and mix it thoroughly. Wait 10 min for settling soil in bottom and clear water separation with filter paper. Open SOIL DOCTOR PLUS (NPK & pH) capsule carefully. Put the chemical inside the test tube and transfer 4.0 ml clear soil extract with dropper.Cap it and mix gently until the chemical is dissolved. Wait 20 minutes for the colour to develop. Compare the colour of the solution to the N-P-K colour chart on the bottle to know the N-P-K status in the sample of the field.pH test results are indicated on a scale from 4.0 to 10.0.

Make sure your soil contains the three main nutrients: Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium (N-P-K) which are vital to growing plants effectively. Soil acidity or alkalinity influences how easily plants take up nutrients from the soil. The standard pH for soils usually ranges between 4.0 and 8.5. Most garden plants favour soil which has a pH between 6.5 and 7 because this is the level where nutrients and minerals naturally thrive.
