Napier grass, a popular fodder crop, can be propagated using the stick sowing method. First, select healthy Napier grass stems with at least two nodes. Cut them into 4-6 inch-long sticks. Plant these sticks vertically in well-prepared soil, ensuring that one node is buried underground. Maintain proper spacing between sticks, typically 1-2 feet apart. Water the sticks regularly, and they should sprout roots and shoots within a few weeks. This method facilitates efficient Napier grass propagation for livestock feed and soil erosion control.
