• HELPS CONTROL NEMATODES : Paecilomyces lilacinus control effects against various nematodes like root-knot nematodes, cyst nematodes,reniform nematode, citrus nematodes. Paecilomyces lilacinus is promising biocontrol agent which gives good results to plant. It acts against plant root nematodes by infecting eggs, juveniles, and adult females.
• MODE OF ACTION : The spore of this fungus infects and kills eggs, juveniles, and young adult of most phytophagous nematode species. The hyphae grows over the surface of the egg. From the bottom of the hyphae, a penetration peg grows into the egg. As the penetration continues, the eggs split and is covered by the hyphae completely. Approximately after 5 days, most of the eggs get infected. The young ones are born infected and die soon.

• APPLICATION METHODS : (1) SEED TREATMENT : Mix 10 g of Paecilomyces lilacinus powder with 1 kg of seeds and sprinkle small amount of water to have a uniform coating of the inoculants over the seeds.Shade dry the seeds for 30 minutes and sown in the field within 24 hours. (2) SEEDLING / RHIZOME ROOT DIPPING : Mix 100 g of Paecilomyces lilacinus with 10 litres of water. Keep the seedling roots immersed condition for 10 minutes and transplant to the field.
